RadScreenShots
Privacy Policy.
Last updated 7 October 2026
In short: RadScreenShots works on your Mac. We do not collect, receive or store your screenshots, recordings, recognized text or usage data. The app has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no network connection of its own.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the RadScreenShots app for macOS, developed by RadHub (“we”). It explains what the app does with information on your Mac and what, if anything, reaches us.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal data through the app. RadScreenShots does not include advertising or analytics software, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not send captures, recordings, text, settings or diagnostics to us or to any server we operate.
The only information we receive is what you choose to send us, for example when you email support (see Contacting support below).
Screen capture and processing
RadScreenShots captures only the area, window or display you select, after macOS grants Screen Recording permission. Image editing and text recognition run on your Mac.
Optional features (screenshot understanding, table and checklist extraction, error explanations, text summaries and file names from content) use Apple Intelligence (Apple’s on-device model), with no cloud-model fallback. File names from content may use recognized screenshot text and the captured window’s title and app name. These features can be turned off in Settings.
Video recordings
- Video is recorded locally. System audio and microphone recording are separate choices, both off by default. Microphone recording requires macOS permission.
- While the recording toolbar is open with the microphone on, the app shows an input-level meter. Meter samples are not saved or played back.
- Until a recording is saved, it is kept in the app’s private storage on your Mac and listed in Unsaved Recordings. Once it is saved to your folder, that local copy is removed.
- If you turn on “Show clicks”, the app observes mouse-button presses only while a recording is in progress, solely to draw click effects into that recording. It does not observe keystrokes and does not log or store click data.
Where your files are stored
- Saved files. Automatic captures are first kept as recoverable local copies in the app’s private storage, then saved to the folder you choose. Saves that fail or are interrupted stay in Pending Saves until you recover or discard them.
- Cloud folders. If you save to a folder managed by a cloud storage provider (for example iCloud Drive), that provider may upload or sync your files under its own privacy policy. RadScreenShots confirms that a file was saved to the folder, not that it was uploaded.
- History. Optional capture history keeps separate local copies of your latest 100 captures. Turning history off stops new copies; existing history stays until you remove it.
- Folder access. RadScreenShots runs in Apple’s App Sandbox. Choosing a folder grants access to that folder and its subfolders. The app stores local security-scoped bookmarks to keep that access across launches.
Deleting a saved file does not remove copies already shared, synced or copied elsewhere.
Screenshot search
Optional search stores filenames, file references, source app names, capture dates and recognized text in a local catalog and in macOS Spotlight (Core Spotlight). Other macOS search features may show these items. Turning search off clears this index without deleting your files.
Clipboard, sharing and notifications
- Copying places the capture on the macOS clipboard. Other apps and system features such as Universal Clipboard may access or transfer clipboard content.
- Sharing sends the items you choose through the macOS sharing service you select. That app or service handles them under its own privacy practices. The app may create temporary local copies while saving or sharing.
- Optional macOS notifications about saves are created on your Mac. They do not include your capture content and can be turned off in Settings → General → Notifications.
Settings and diagnostics
Settings are stored locally on your Mac. The app writes operational diagnostics, such as capture timing and processing errors, to the macOS system log on your Mac. These are not sent to us automatically.
Apple and the App Store
When you download RadScreenShots from the Mac App Store, Apple handles your purchase and account information under Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in macOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized usage and crash information. We do not receive your Apple Account or payment details.
Your choices
- You can turn off automatic saving, clipboard copying, capture history, file names from content, screenshot understanding, search and notifications in Settings.
- Screen Recording and microphone access are controlled in System Settings → Privacy & Security and can be revoked at any time.
- To remove all data the app keeps on your Mac, delete your saved captures and exports, turn off search to clear the index, and delete the app. Its private storage is in your Library folder under Containers/dev.alzyoud.RadScreenShots and can be removed there.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, such as screenshots or descriptions. We use this only to respond to you and to fix problems you report. We do not sell or share it. You can ask us to delete your correspondence at any time.
Children
RadScreenShots does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date before the change takes effect.
